Christian Values

We are a Church of England Voluntary Aided School and Christian values are at the core of everything we do and we work hard to maintain and actively promote these values.

Because we believe that God longs for each person to grow to their full potential, we want our school to be a place where

• Everybody receives a loving welcome
• Each child is treated as uniquely gifted in body, mind and spirit
• Growing and learning becomes a way of life for everybody involved in the school

OUR COMMUNITY

We have strong links to both the Church of St Nicholas in Fyfield, The Church of St Michael & All Angels in West Overton and the Diocese of Salisbury.

The school holds a daily collective worship which is led by a member of staff,. It is often led by a member of the local church on a Wednesday. Throughout the year each year group also plans and leads at least 1 collective worship a term, which parents are invited to attend. It is fantastic to see how hard the children work on these special afternoons.

The school enjoys and benefits from visits to our local churches for special occasions such as the Harvest Festival, Christmas, Easter and the Year 6 Leaver’s Service. Parents and the local community are very welcome to join us on these occasions. Check the Calendar under the 'Parents' menu on the website for further details of these events.

SIAMS

In March 2018 we were inspected for our SIAMS. We received a GOOD judgement, which we are very proud of. The reasons that we received a Good grading was because the inspector saw that:

• The Christian character of the school is clearly evident through the positive relationships, rooted in love, care and empathy, which exist between all members of the school community.
• The seamless partnership between the school, church and wider local community is highly valued by all connected with the school. The church provides an impressive level of spiritual support and guidance to children, staff and parents at the school.
• A sharpened focus on the development of spirituality has resulted in increased opportunities for children to explore their sense of self.
